In 1995, the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum was established. Seven thousand specimens are housed here, and it is one of the largest collections of nut-opening devices. The museum has several shelves of relics dating back to Roman times and the ever famous wooden toy soldiers seen at Christmas.
